Midlothian Water Treatment Plant No. 2 Online. This greenfield plant entered the planning stage in 2007, and recently went online in August of 2013. SRA was prime, partnered with Freese & Nichols Inc, for this $29M surface water treatment plant that utilizes the latest technology and project approaches available in the public drinking water market. This includes Siemens Water Technologies latest generation PVDF microfiltration membranes, and UV light disinfection. This plant is the first in the state of Texas to receive approval from the TCEQ to use an Ultraviolet light process for drinking water disinfection. It is also one of the first Texas Water Development Board funded projects to use the Construction Manager At Risk (CMAR) procurement method
