NRH20 is water park located in North Richland Hills, Texas, a suburb of Fort Worth, and is open from May to September. The park features eight water slides, a children's area, a large wave pool, a large lagoon-like play area, and a lazy river. Since NRH2O opened, it has consistently ranked amongst the top water parks in the nation.
SRA and ADG were commissioned to design the addition of a new thrill ride for the 2012 season called The Viper. The project also included a new bathhouse, water slide receiving pool, associated mechanical equipment and chemical systems, locker facility and concession area. The design team worked with three industry water slide manufacturers for the creation of a brand new high intensity water slide that would have its first worldwide installation at NRH2O. Specific scope items included programming, construction documents and construction observation as required for the construction of the new water slide.
NRH2O's Viper features an enormous 20 foot diameter tube. This attraction strikes at the heart of excitement with its multi-sensory overload of twists, high-banking turns and heart-stopping drops! At 43-feet tall, 430-feet long and built for two to four person rafts, the Viper is the ride for thrill-seekers looking to share an unforgettable experience together. The next best thing to riding the viper is watching some of the thrill videos found on http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wV51GCwaa2g
"NRH2O and our guests are thrilled with the Viper! We selected the Viper based on a customer survey which indicated that our guests wanted a ride that allowed them to share the experience with their family and friends", states Chris Swartz, NRH2O's Park Manager. "Not only is it a family-sized experience but its high capacity shortens wait times, which also makes our guests very happy. Another unique feature is that when the waterpark is open in the evenings, the Viper is not to be missed, with its exciting lighting and sound effects".
